What can I expect during my first therapy session?

Each session is 50 minutes long, however on occasion we can book an 80 minute session.
How often should I come to therapy?
I typically recommend starting with once per week, however, this is up to you.
How long does therapy usually take to work?
This is entirely dependent on how much time and attention you put into applying the work. There is no standard answer for this.
What’s the difference between therapy and counseling?
Counselling often focuses on specific issues or challenges in the short term — such as managing stress, improving communication, or navigating a life change. It’s usually more structured and solution-focused. In counselling, we do not diagnose, assess or evaluate.
Do I need a referral to start therapy?
If you want a diagnosis, you will need to have a psychologist or psychiatrist you have a relationship with as well. You do not need a referal to come and see me.

I offer transpersonal, Gestalt-based, somatic informed and humanistic counselling.
